AFP Northeast Indiana Chapter adds new Mentorship Program as a Benefit of Membership

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Northeast Indiana Chapter is embarking on a new initiative: a Mentorship Program for members. A Mentor provides exposure, visibility, and coaching which directly supports a Mentee’s professional development. In addition, Mentors provide role modeling and friendship which helps a Mentee develop a positive self-image. The primary function of a Mentor is to build a strong relationship through listening, guidance, advice, teaching, and professional support.

The AFP Northeast Indiana Chapter will accept applications for the Mentorship Program on an ongoing basis. The Mentorship Coordinator in conjunction with the Membership Committee will identify the best available matches as members apply to the program. Once a match is a made, the Mentor and Mentee will be contacted and will be given resources for getting started. The Mentorship Coordinator will continue to be available to matches as a guide in building the relationships and will ask participants to fill out a report at the end of each year with feedback about the match.

This is another valuable benefit for members only. For a mentor application, click here. If you would like someone to mentor you, click here.
