What is National Philanthropy Day?

2009 National Philanthropy Day®

Thursday, November 12th, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Landmark Conference and Reception Centre
6222 Ellison Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804

The purpose of National Philanthropy Day® (NPD) is to recognize and celebrate philanthropy’s role in the enrichment of our community and to honor the people and organizations whose philanthropic gifts of time, talent, and treasure have made northeast Indiana a better place.

The highlight of the event will be the presentation of five awards to local individuals and organizations for exceptional commitment to the community through direct financial support, development of charitable programs, volunteering, and leadership in philanthropy that encourages others to become involved in philanthropic endeavors that benefit our community. The five categories are:

  • Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (K-12)
  • Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (college age)
  • Outstanding Philanthropist
  • Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist
  • Outstanding Nonprofit Leader

In addition to celebrating the philanthropic spirit in our community, NPD also provides fundraising professionals with educational workshops featuring nationally acclaimed speakers and a trade show of select exhibitors offering products and services to nonprofit organizations.
